Housed Spring Mountings consist of high deflection, Colour coded Steel springs assembled into telescoping cast housings separated by Neoprene Rubbers Inserts complete with built-in levelling bolt & thick Neoprene acoustical friction pad to eliminate bolting down. Rubber inserts isolate sound waves generated in springs, limit movement during start-up & shut-down & provide minimum damping in all directions to allow springs to function independently. Ideally suited for high horizontal thrust applications & low-frequency vibration problems.

Mountings Are Available In Three Versions With & Without Dampers:

  • External Levelling (Suffix: E) For Well Centered Equipment Mounting Holes With Access For Levelling From Above (Standard)
  • Internal Levelling (Suffix: I) Are Used When External Setting Is Not Possible. Mounting Is Aligned With Equipment Mounting Hole & Levelled By An Internal Bolt.
  • Free Standing (Suffix: F) Has A Non-Skid Friction Rubber Pad Cold Bonded To Top Surface & An Internal Levelling Bolt.
  • Damped Mountings (Suffix : D) All Versions Also Available With Built-In Adjustable Dampers. Damping Is Varied By Altering The Pressure On The Rubber Insert By Adjusting The Dampening Bolt. Tightening The Dampers Reduces Vertical Movement, Limits Bounce, Controls Side Motion & Rock. Wear Is Negligible As Damping Is Provided By The Viscous Distortion Of The Neoprene Inserts Rather Than By Friction.

Typical Applications:

  • Air Handling Units
  • Cooling Towers
  • Blowers
  • Chillers
  • Compressors
  • Pumps
  • Centrifugal Fans
  • Punch Presses
  • Drop Hammers
  • Dg Sets

Description

Housed Spring Mounts – Protected Spring Vibration Isolators

Overview

Housed spring mounts are spring vibration isolators with a protective steel housing and integrated acoustic rubber pad. The housing protects the spring element from damage and environmental exposure while the acoustic pad prevents noise transmission through the mount. Ideal for HVAC equipment and industrial machinery requiring high deflection isolation.

Features

  • Steel coil spring with protective housing
  • Neoprene or natural rubber acoustic isolation pad
  • Corrosion-resistant powder-coated finish
  • Optional seismic snubbers and restraints
  • Wide range of load capacities

Applications

  • HVAC chillers and cooling towers
  • Water-cooled and air-cooled chillers
  • Large centrifugal pumps and pump assemblies
  • Air handling units (AHUs) and fan coil units
  • Industrial fans and blowers
  • Compressors and refrigeration equipment
  • Industrial process machinery

Benefits

  • Excellent vibration isolation (90%+ efficiency)
  • Protects building structure from equipment vibration
  • Reduces noise transmission through mounts
  • Easy installation and leveling
  • Long service life with no maintenance
  • Seismic restraint options available
  • Suitable for indoor and sheltered outdoor use
